It is standard to submit ID at accommodation in Italy. We were sent details of our room the day before arrival. This worked well. We had booked the budget room, which was on the ground floor. "I booked the Easy Downtown Inn and only when I arrived did the host tell me that the place was not available and took me to another accomodation that I would have never booked on my own. No discount was given for the inconvenience and I had to share the area with another family which I did not intend to do."

"The property was nice. In a nice quiet suburb. Only a 20 minute public transport ride to Venice. We got one bedroom in a three bed apartment. Each bedroom locks. There is a shared bathroom and dining room. The bed was super comfy. My only qualm with the place was that the door to get into the apartment was a bit difficult to open. The host was also super wonderful! Great place for the price you pay."

"I'm asking refund for the booking on 6/15. Our train arrived late that day, but I sent the message repeatedly earlier asking for instructions to get the key. There was no single response. When we arrived in the midnight, with neighbors help, got in the gate, found the building, got in the entrance, in the room box there was no key at all. Called the owner many times, there was no response. We have to find somewhere else to stay that time!"

"We booked this through hotels.com and we got a confirmation however they did not nor did they receive payment. We arrived and the host Valentina was waiting for us (because we called). She graciously let us in the gates and showed us one of two rooms to choose from which either one was fine. We were hungry and Valentina recommended a nearby restaurant that had great food. We woke up to a beautiful continental breakfast which tasted amazing and a latte. It was really foggy and we had to rush...
