"This was a great stay for 2 adults and 2 children. Despite there being a sign up on arrival that there was a private event with music till midnight… I didn’t hear a thing, the rooms are nice and quiet, the pool was lovely to wind down in after a busy day, and the breakfast was great, plenty of choice, fresh and was replenished often. Parking is £7 for each night, and there is a bus stop on the opposite side of the road just outside the hotel to take you into York, the bus’s are every 15 minutes and we purchased a family all day ticket for around £9.60 which was super convenient, overall a fantastic couple of days was has by all! "

"Great location, spotlessly clean, well designed room, good breakfast, even made use of the maintenance team to remove a nail from my partners shoe. Parking a rip off but that isnt the hotel fault."

"Like a Downton Abbey experience. A grand palacios hotel. Although large, it felt warm, homely and welcoming. Upgraded to a suite which was just wonderful. So comfortable, spacious yet again a homely feel. Throughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. We were able to secure our luggage and explore York ahead of checking in . They kindly kept our luggage safely after checking out also so again we could enjoy our ambling through the streets of York. Great choices for breakfast,.Pet friendly also. This is a beautiful hotel well worth the stay."

"Great location, close to York, but not in York. There is a bus stop located near to the hotel which goes in York or the coast. The breakfast was lovely either a cooked breakfast or cereal and fruit, yoghurt or toast. "
