"This is an experience rather than a hotel stay. From the moment we parked we were looked after by the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were great, we had suite which was fully furnished in art deco style but with up to date touches; coffee machine. Underfloor heating. "

"Beautiful hotel in the most stunning location. Fantastic for dog walking and miles away from anything. Beautiful views, with access to sea and sand. Lovely food, rooms are great. Sadly didn’t get to use the spa as was fully booked but very quiet in the hotel so not sure how had booked it!"

"We loved it here - quite secluded and beware the Devon country lanes that access it, but it’s in a stunning location and we even stayed an extra night! The staff were brilliant and the food was faultless. Lots of doggos too :)"

"Hotel was well decorated in the main areas - looking fairly newly redone. The service was good. The only issue is the quality of the breakfast buffet is terrible - i mean really terrible. We arrived at breakfast around 9.30 - the eggs were like rubber, sausages the cheapest you can buy, bacon like rubber, instant coffee only. The toast was the highlight, which speaks volumes. Otherwise a great stay."

"Everything was v clean. We stayed in the Wotter Room on the second floor. Yes it could all do with a bit of a paint in patches but the room is charming and huge. The view was amazing - we could see the fireworks in Plymouth the first night that we stayed. Had a fab Nepalese curry on Wednesday followed by an Indian pudding which was delicious. Steak on the second night. The hotel is on the edge of Dartmoor but close enough to the local tourist attractions. We will definitely return. "

"Having stayed previously, we booked the Neptune suite, for 3 people and our dog. Breakfast and service were first class. Because we were at the top of the building, the roof blinds were useless, letting in light and not fitted properly, def needs replacing, in both rooms. Not enough storage in the small bathroom, especially for number of people."

"I booked at the last minute via Expedia and selected the breakfast option. Slightly cheaper than the "official" Greene King site. Fantastic greeting by staff - the checking in procedure was very slick. The room was clean (two single beds - I only needed one). Bathroom had recently been refurbished. Shower was great (Grohe fittings - classy!). Bed was comfy. Tea/coffee making facilities great.
