"The property was ideal for the two of us and was nice and private and well screened from other houses in the close. The host was in good communication with us before our visit and was friendly and welcoming in person. "A wonderfully historic house with an equally wonderful garden, location and views. So very peaceful. Only a quick drive to Launceston for provisions. Everyone said their beds were comfortable. Lots of games for the garden and indoor board games for family fun. It was hard to drag ourselves away to go enjoy all the fun things to do in the area. The owner provided a very comprehensive list."

"My friend and I met at The Ilsington Hotel for a catch up and spa plus dinner and overnight stay! I had no expectations about the hotel in advance but I must say we absolutely fell in love with this delightful family run , wonderful friendly atmosphere. The three course dinner was the most delicious fine dining I had enjoyed for years, it was so tasty. The spa and massage were fantastic. You could relax in the gardens with a coffee or lunch and it felt like an escape from the real world. We also walked to Haytor nearby and enjoyed the fabulous beautiful Dartmoor views. There are many places to visit nearby. We will definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful stay. "
