"There was a Christmas tree and decorations which made the house feel quite festive. The house was very comfortable and warm with plenty of space for the family of 5 adults and a dog. The facilities were a bit mixed - The living room tv was not working but this was sorted quite quickly. The kitchen is great to cook in but could do with another fridge or wine cooler as only a standard under worktop one provided. Not quite enough for lots of food and drinks. "Enjoyed the weekend at Wauchope Cottage. Perfect location to explore the coast and Galloway forest area of SW Scotland. House is super clean and much more room than we expected. The grounds are gorgeous and we loved walking around. It would be nice if there was an opportunity to visit the castle to see the inside. This is a fairly remote property, so be prepared to drive to anything you need. But so quiet and peaceful."

"I came with my family from Switzerland to go to a wedding at Turnberry. The cottage was ideal situation for that and for exploring the surrounding area. Clean, comfortable, warm and well equipped accommodation. Would highly recommend."

"Lovely home with beautiful views and comfy beds. "

"Plenty of room in the cottage and each bedroom had a bathroom. Woke up to the sound of cows mooing in the field opposite and saw a hare on the lane a few times. Within reasonable driving distance of Troon, very nice seaside town and golf course, Dumfries Castle and excellent pub in the nearby village of Fenwick."

"The communication forehand was excellent and we were met at the property and shown round. The property was as right on the seafront and had superb views and sunsets It had everything you could possibly need and I would highly recommend it"

"Had a lovely few days here enjoying the birds and the beautiful view in the late summer sunshine. The owners,(who normally live near by) were away so the peace and quiet made us feel as if we were the only people in the world."
