"This old manor home has been a hotel for a long time and it has a certain old world feel. But it's well-managed, comfortable, and the setting is fantastic. We had long walks on the beachfront (it's a unique sandy waterway), blustery rain, and a lovely walk into town for a nice dinner. Don't miss sitting in the lounge/library with a good book looking out over the front lawn. I would love to spend a week here with rainy days and big thick books to read."

"The hotel was comfortable and had wonderful views of the lake . The decor had a Scottish feel and was clean. We were booked to have a Snug but ended up having a classic double. So spacious a d comfortable. For breakfast we had a lot of choice including a full Engish. Staff were polite and helpful. One tip: when you arrive at the hotel, park in front and unload your bags before parking in the car park. Otherwise you will have to carry your bags up stairs to reception. On the whole a lovely hotel close to Lake Windemere. Will definitely stay here again. "
