My back has been aching recently but the mattress in my room was very good and of just right level of stiffness so my back felt rested. I thoroughly enjoyed breakfast as it had many options and variety. Staff were really friendly and helped me order a taxi to my next destination. Would definitely stay there again. "

"We arrived after dark via taxi and were surprised at the incredible location and architecture. This is an authentic Japanese experience— tatami floors and comfortable futon mats!! We knew we would be magically surprised in the morning and we were! It’s nestled up on the hillside with an incredible view of Mt Fuji! It was a treat to be able to privately soak before bed in an ofuro (we imagine it too has a view of Mt Fuji in the day). Sunrise view in the room of Mt Fuji was unreal! Framed in the most beautiful natural setting. The guesthouse is clean, and the hosts are very friendly and well knowledgable in the area. And fluent in English! Breakfast was delicious and so healthy! A absolute must! The owner was kind enough to drive us to our 9:30 am sake brewery tour in town. We definitely want to stay at Sakuya Guesthouse again and hopefully also climb Fuji San!"
