"A great location right on the lake in Hakone. Although it looked to be fully booked we did not see other guests and it was lovely and peaceful. We stayed for 3 nights and were fortunate to see Mt Fuji for two days of our stay. The onsen in the room was amazing, we used it twice a day or more, so relaxing. It could fit two people, and we loved how the doors opened up to look at the view. We were on level 2 and if you can I would suggest trying to get a room level 3 or higher as we did have some maple trees which partially obstructed our view. It was still lovely but you would have a clear view of the lake and beyond from the floors above. It was easy walking across the road to 7-11, or to the couple of restaurants in the area. The complimentary drinks and snacks was a lovely touch. We appreciated the in-room washing machine, and the big projector tv was great. A very relaxing place to stay in the middle of our Japan trip."

"It was so fun to stay here! It gets dark and everything nearby closes early (5pm) but the amenities, dining experience and onsen made it well worth the stay. It was the perfect getaway from Tokyo. We even had an outdoor tub that dispensed hot spring water on our balcony! Not to mention the free sparkling wine and ice cream post-onsen. "

"View from our room to the lake and Mount Fuji was worth every single penny. Highly recommended that you either rent a car or be prepared to pay for taxis to go down to the town and restaurants. Most of the times it will be around 2,200 yens for a one way trip, so consider this in your expenses. Great traditional hotel with the opportunity to have a private onsen in the hotel. "

"Staff is very responsive and attentive. Having an in room onsen is great so that we can take a dip in it any time we like. Although the property is a little out of the way, they can always take you to near by bus or train station upon request. Dinner and breakfast are served inside the room. You sit on the floor and the table is about 12-14" high. Sitting cross leg may be uncomfortable to those who are not used to it. Getting up from that sitting position may be difficult for some."
