"The location was great with the trail heads in 3 state parks and a nature preserve each just a 15 minute drive away. The house was also close to supermarkets and the downtown, which had many restaurants and lots of free parking. "We were looking for a spot where we could hang out as a family of 16 coming from 7 spots around the US and Canada. This house worked well with plenty of bedrooms for adult children couples with ensuite bathrooms. Large bunk room for children, in door game/activity space and lots of outdoor space with a great pool for activity. The kids loved the over-the-top palace feel of the mansion. "Elaine’s was a great place to celebrate a milestone birthday with friends! With four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and the option of a pull out couch and air mattress, we had room for multiple adults to be comfortable. The large and well-equipped kitchen and big dining room table were perfect for collaborating on meals and playing games. We enjoyed pizza from Fire on Fifth and day hikes at Starved Rock. We recommend Elaine’s for a group celebration or holiday!"

"Based on the pictures you would think this was a simple but very nice home. However, once we checked in, just from the outside you could tell it has not been kept up. The deck is worn and weeds and trees are growing along side it. Inside, there were numerous things wrong, including a strong smell of cat pee that was in the hallway and got stronger in the bedroom.
