"Great for overnight stay with dog. All staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is dated and rooms could be cleaner however bed was comfortable and bar and dining area clean with great breakfast choice. Large enclosed gardens and 15 minute walk into Keswick from back of the hotel (off road country walk)"

"An excellent property in all aspects, made even better by its convenient location. Guests can stroll down a private lawn to access starting points for bus and boat travel around Lake Windermere. It's not the most luxurious place I've stayed in the Lakes, but the location more than compensates. Highly recommended. I would happily stay here again."

"Have stayed here many times and never fails to impress. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were amazing with a first class dinner menu with plenty of choice. The lounge bar was comfortable and well appointed. We had lunch and drinks in the beautiful gardens as the weather was exceptional. All members of staff are friendly and helpful a welcome change to the surly staff you get at most places these days. We will return again and again. For me personally as I have a dog phobia I like the fact that dogs are not allowed in the main building or in the bar. Highly recommended."
