"If you’re looking to stay in the heart of the Historic Center, this is your place. Be prepared to walk over rocky roads and go up and down the road stairs, which is not bad if you want to exercise a little bit while vacationing. Room was a little too small for my taste but very clean and comfortable. View from my room window was incredible! Hotel doesn’t offer parking (paid or free). You need to find a paid parking spot on the nearby streets (around $10 Euros for 10 hours). Breakfast was good."

"This was a "blow the budget" trip for me and I was not disappointed. The hotel is built into caves and has fantastic views of the city and over the ford (you can walk over). My room (a cave in itself) was huge, a large jacuzzi in the centre (would likely accommodate 4 people) and a modern wet room at rear, decor and lighting was perfect. "What a fantastic hotel right in the centre of matera. The rooms were wonderful and the staff very helpful. A word to drivers getting tit he hotel can be a little stressful as the roads are very narrow and confusing. The restricted zone signage is the worst but ignore it as the hotel sorts the issue out with local police. "
