"When I checked in, the hotel made me pay for my stay. Again. So, I double paid. They later sent me a long text taking ownership of the issue and were very apologetic. They attempted to refund me, but were unable to. Instead, they deducted hotel costs like spa, lunch, dinner, mini bar, etc from the cost, but I was still left with the equivalent of about $100. At checkout, when I’m about to get on a plane to the US, their solution was to give me a bunch of cash in Brazilian Reals which is useless...

"We had some issues with communication when making our reservations but they were resolved when we arrived, and were able to talk in person. We rented two rooms. One had a problem with the AC unit but we found out one of our children had left the window cracked open, and that kept the air conditioner off. We made use of the pool, the breakfast included with our reservations, and one evening meal. Overall, a pleasant experience. "
