"Lovely little property located in a quaint village:) Staff members were super friendly on arrival and the whole check in/out process was smooth. The property has a lot of charm but needs a little tlc. The bathroom is basic and shower not great but the rest of the facilities in the room were good. The bed was a little on the hard side and very squeaky. Overall a good stay and for what we paid we were happy :) thank you x"

"The location of the Cottage is 5* easy walking distance to the Jorvik, York museum, Shambles, river cruise and lots of restaurants and pubs. York Minster is also nearby. The photo of the Cottage at the back of the building is accurate and can be accessed through the main building (it has steps down) or side entrance (all flat) Previous reviews have said the cottage floors slope, and yes they do, we got used to this quite quickly and it added to the quirkiness of the Cottage. Communication was prompt, the cottage was immaculate when we arrived and fully equipped, and the village of Burythorpe was beautiful! Highly recommend popping into the pub across the street as it was lovely. Gemma also provided several great recommendations in the guest book and we are sad that we couldn’t get to everything in our weekend stay! Would definitely come back, thanks Gemma!"

I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. "We had a great stay in this idealic little village with a pub literally across the road. The location was perfect to explore Yorkshire. Pam & Richard were very welcoming and available but left us to ourselves which we appreciated. The house was warm, the shower hot and the bed comfy. All that you could want. "

"Overall a good stay. Needs a bit of TLC to the paintwork. Bathroom is quite small but adequate, & bedroom space was small ie bed against the wall. Stayed in deluxe studio apartment it was nice to sit on chairs instead of bed to watch tv. Nice kitchen area if you want to cook something simple. Bed was comfortable & extra pillows if wanted in wardrobe. Great communication & easy mobile entry via email "
