"The room was clean and comfortable. We had a room with a small balcony with beautiful views of the bay and, in the distance, the Aeolian Islands. Mama Lina and everyone else was very hospitable and friendly - we certainly felt at home. It is 5-10 minute drive from the town of Patti - we preferred that it was quieter than being in a town centre. It is helpful to know some Italian but if not you can always use Google translate! He took us to our room and showed us around which is when we realized that he does not speak any English so communicating was challenging.
