"We stayed on Valentine’s Day and scored reservations for a delicious dinner while a beautiful singer serenaded us. It was perfect. They had a photo station set up. Afterwards we walked the property and enjoyed the beautiful night and pretty gardens. Will definitely be staying here again."

"This is a wonderful and clean boutique hotel. The last mile and a half drive to the property is a narrow, winding and steep road, but the drive is well worth it. The view from the rooms is spectacular looking out onto the ocean and amazing sunsets. The staff made our stay. The waiters were very friendly and gave us information about the area and wildlife. We saw toucans and a sloth on the property. Our waiter, Giovani, shared a video of a sloth climbing a tree and I view it now to make me happy. The dining area was conducive to talking with other guests. They have a very nice yoga platform and readily provided mats. The staff responded to all of our requests promptly and happily. We will stay at Lapazul again if we visit Costa Rica."

"What an amazing experience staying at Santa Juana Lodge! Myself, my husband and our 2 year old daughter had an amazing time here. The views were incredible, and sleeping in the screened in bedrooms listening to the wildlife was so relaxing. Even though we were here in February it was very comfortable and cool sleeping at night. We arranged transport through Santa Juana Lodge which I would highly recommend. It was nice not having to worry about driving up the mountain. My husband did the birding tour with Alan which was absolutely incredible, they saw 55 birds in a few hours! My daughter and I walked to the waterfalls (with her in a hiking backpack), it is about 1 mile out and back on a very quiet road. I loved that there was a smaller waterfall which was great for her. The big waterfall looked amazing but was more appropriate for adults or kids who can swim. It is a steep walk back! The best part was the welcoming and friendly staff. We especially loved making empanadas with Julia, fresh tropical juices with every meal, and the endless supply of fruit (which made my toddler so happy!) I wish we stayed an extra day so that we could do the nature / waterfall excursion. But we hope to return in the future! Staying at Santa Juana was one of my favorite travel experiences I have ever had."

"This hotel was wonderful; the tour guides were particularly knowledgeable and also great with kids! We enjoyed the restaurant and especially the views from the rooms (we had 3, and all were incredible). It is a bit of a walk through the cloud forest to the rooms, but there is help for luggage, and it's exactly the kind of walk you come to Costa Rica to take! Thank you Dantica! "

"Its nor only an hotel, its the best place for the view (All room have a view on the mountain) and to relax with all there private trail and Jardin it's not only a Hotel it's a little after life paradise !! WOW"

"Room was comfortable. No view from room. Pretty area with gardens around walkways. Not a lot of outside seating areas. Most rooms are a walk uphill a ways. Not many have close parking. Trails uphill behind resort. 4x4 drive to upper parking was in good shape and looked good enough for 2 wheel when dry. Dining was fine, with good service. Trout was good, though I think it was better for lunch up the road at the next cafe. Bar area has seating and fire. Happy hour 3-5. The resort seems to do a lot of large bus groups. Dining room was full with 4 tables of 10-15 people and just a handful of couples at other tables."

"We have stayed at Steve’s and Nancy’s for two weeks and experienced their hospitality, friendliness and such a warmth. Loved the place : super comfortable, very private yet close enough to know the host is there when you need them. Steve and his helper rescued us from a very daring car trouble for which we were so grateful. We enjoyed the tranquility and spectacular views, jacuzzi on the huge terrace was awesome. We will go back next year."
