"I booked an overnight stay for my mom and I as a Christmas gift for her, as she had never traveled to Gloucester. We planned a trip to hunt for seaglass and wanted to stay close to Pavilion Beach. SO glad we decided to stay here! John is very warm, welcoming, and conversational. He made us feel at home right away, and even carried my mom's overnight bag upstairs to our room. We stayed in the Manchester room, which had a beautiful view of the beach across the street. The bathroom was super tiny...

We like it a little warmer so we turned it up a bit but the temperature did not change in the room and nor did we hear the heat kick on at all during our stay. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't ideal either -also they only give you a very thin quilt type blanket which during the winter isn't quite enough for me. "It was a beautiful area, especially this time of year. Joan, our hostess, was very friendly and helpful. Her breakfast was wonderful, and there was plenty of everything. If you left there hungry, it would your own fault. The time I was there I felt at home. Joan was fantastic."

"My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect for walking to everything we wanted to see and on-site parking is a big plus. There is home made quick bread (e.g., banana) every morning for breakfast, plus a full array of other breakfast items. French press coffee. Because it's an historic home, the bedrooms are of different sizes. No lift, but the manager kindly carried my suitcase upstairs. There are games and books. I would stay again."
