The staff is nice and helpful, putting us in touch with a great guide and setting up our taxis to and from the rail station. "A lovely provincial hotel in Sarlat & we enjoyed the breakfast. Very pleasant hosts & their dog Mario was a treat. Our only issue was that they said they had a problem with Wotif/Expedia passing on our payment & as we had to pay again on check out, & now are in negotiations with Wotif to get our money back. We have to wait 3 days so we do not yet know how easy Wotif is going to make the resolution to a problem of their making. Hopefully it will be ok "

"It’s a 40 minute walk down hill, along the cobbled sidewalks, right the way through town to get to the hotel. It’s an old hotel, and I would say it’s in need of attention. Very, very narrow, steep stairs to climb with luggage. Noisy in the hallways as people enter and leave their rooms. And if you get the single bedroom, beware the distance between the toilet and the wall is so tight, you will have to sit sideways. Also the absolute hardest bed I’ve ever slept in. Honestly felt like cement....
