"Lovely location near town, with delicious breakfast and comfy room! FYI, parking access is tricky, as steep, skinny, and sharp turns (not good for larger vehicles, be comfy reversing around curve, and try to arrive first time in daylight!), but instructions are clear. "The Maison de Tari is a perfect place to stay for families looking to explore the area around Sarlat. We stayed in a family room with three small children and it suited us perfectly. All rooms had a separate outside sitting area with a large table. It had a good sized pool, a separate communal cooking and dining area, including a gas BBQ and a fridge. A great continental breakfast was provided that included fresh pastries from the local bakery, and a selection of local jams, cheeses and meats....

"Very relaxing and comfortable stay in the countryside near Sarlat. The room was small but comfortable and with all amenities. Very quiet in an old country home. A great French breakfast was included and you can order dinner (be sure to ask the host in the morning) with fresh and high quality local delicacies. The host was also very friendly and helpful. We recommend for anyone looking to taste the Périgord countryside!"

"Incredible hotel. This hotel has been recently renovated to a very high standard, especially the Maraval Suite which is perfect for families. The staff at the hotel, especially Laurie, are very helpful. The swimming pool is heated and perfect for both relaxing and swimming lengths. The spa area is very nice too. "With easy access to surrounding areas, the gîte is in a great position. The gîte itself situated at the back of the property, was quiet and private. Our hosts were very helpful, providing ideas on sights to visit. We enjoyed our stay very much. "

Les Lavandes Gîte 5 persons swimming pool garden in the countryside near SARLAT

Beautiful Gite

"We had a lovely week here and really wished we could stay longer. The gite is very comfortable and spacious in beautiful surroundings. Really safe for little ones with gates outside etc. the pool was a real highlight and kept my 5 year old fully entertained for a week. Lots of activities to do nearby, a really family friendly are."

Lovely place and location

"The pool is lovely, the only downside was that there is no WiFi although we managed to get mobile signal most of the time. It's 10 minutes from Sarlat-le-Caneda which has a stunning old town, it's also 15 minutes from some beautiful gardens, under 30 minutes to several stunning villages built into the cliffs, and an hour away from the absolutely stunning Rocamadour. There are plenty of caves if you enjoy that, Domme is within half an hour, and there are also quite a few options within 30 minutes to hire a canoe down the Dordogne which is a lovely way to see all the castles and villages on the river. There is also a very large supermarket on the edge of Sarlat-le-Caneda 10 minutes away and a local butcher and store that sells bread etc. Overall a lovely place to stay and very well positioned. If you're English you should be aware the communication with the hosts is all in French. But I used Google translate and communicated via text and it was not a problem."

"This is a lovely quiet property away from it all. It is in an interesting area, with Plus Beaux Villages, La Dordogne plus Sarlat-la-Caneda so there is plenty to do and to see."
