We used the location to explore the region and had easy access to Sarlat, Beynac, Castelnaud, Domme etc. Highlight was a kayak trip on the Dordogne river past castles and beautiful villages. "We are two families 4 adults and 4 children (age 6-10) and have recently stayed for 1 week at Chateau Madame. Our first view of the chateau was from its imposing position on the hillside which could be seen from several kilometres away basking in the evening sun as we approached. There is a 400m meandering drive up the hillside toward Chateau Madame that provides a secluded and safe setting.
