"This elegant historical hotel was a great choice in Rotorua. We especially enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff, the excellent dinner at Duke’s Restaurant, and the wonderful hot pools on site. With such great, private pools, you really don’t have to pay for others. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed walking the nearby beach boardwalk and gardens. Free parking is offered but can be a bit hard to secure during the day. But by evening, there was ample to choose from."

"We stayed there one night. The new owners (2 months as of March 2025) are great! Really friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and included everything one could need: equipped kitchenette, iron, hair dryer, etc. They even had free washer for clothing. Would stay again!"

"Nice, cute place and very clean. Friendly staff. Love the fact that you can have your very own outdoor hot tub if you book a room on the first floor. Disappointed that the restaurant wasn’t open as it is still in the process of being approved by the council. The nearby cafes make up for it. Perfect place to stay as it is only 15 minutes away from the Redwood Forest and 20 to 30 minutes away from the geothermal sites south of Rotorua. "
