"Great location, wonderful view over the bay which was made the more due to the glorious weather. We had room 8 with views over the bay. Very spacious. Wide breakfast choice and served hot, plenty of tea and coffee. Waiters all very helpful and cheerful. Had evening meal in Osbornes one evening, good portion sizes and reasonably priced. Plus excellent location for cliff top walk to Whitby but it is nearly 7 miles, inclines and took nearly 3 hours but great views if you're up to it and weather is favourable"

"Lovely clean room, comfy bed. Ate in the bar & enjoyed a nice meal, friendly staff in bar area. It was not warm enough to sit in the garden but in warmer weather there were plenty of tables outside in a nice spacious garden. Hotel is situated away from the centre of whitby but is very handy for the park & ride bus service which works out much cheaper than using the town car parks. "

"Very friendly accommodation, comfortable bed good for parking , car recommended but possible to walk to Whitby maybe taxi back ! Bar / restaurant on site food very good . We will definitely stay again . "

"We really enjoyed our stay but found the cleaning timetable below expectations. We like to relax after lunch but our room was not cleaned until after 3pm which meant that we had to arrange our activities around the hotel schedule rather than the other way round. When we asked there appeared to be no flexibility in the cleaning schedule ."

"This is a lovely hotel simple but with splendidly large sized rooms - mine had an en-suite bathroom and a big double bed. With wonderful views of the castle and church across the road. Well worth a visit. For cleanliness, politeness of staff and facilities it is definitely worth the cheap price I paid for two nights….. Top marks AAA***** "
