"The cottage is compact, but every inch of space is used to the maximum to make it a very comfortable, cosy place to base yourself. The kitchen is well stocked and easy to use. The living area is tiny, but with a comfy sofa and armchair is fine to hang out in. The stairs are very steep, especially to the attic bedroom (come down in reverse and use the rope provided!) Ideal for a family with younger children (who will love the attic bedroom), but I managed to negotiate the stairs as a reasonably...

"This should be an absolute gem of a cottage, but isn't. It is unclean with damp and mould in the lounge from a leaking bath above. It is tatty and in need of a bit of TLC. Dogs are only allowed in the kitchen - something they don't tell you in the description. They say there's a parking permit. There isn't, just a note to put in your car. Unfortunately, this wasn't accepted and we got a fine. Tried to communicate with owner but 6 weeks later still no response. Really disappointing as Robin Hoods...

"We enjoyed our stay at Resthaven once we found it! The directions given were confusing for anyone not familiar with the area and it took us quite a while to locate the property. Once inside we were happy with what we found apart from there being no means of closing off the stairs from the bedrooms and the top bedroom door and en-suite doors would not close. The area is lovely and quaint and we enjoyed exploring and visiting Whitby. We slept well and the bed was comfortable. Everything we needed...
