"A family wedding brought us to Sayulita.. The Buddha Villa was so much more than we expected! Spacious, comfortable & authentic! Ideal downtown location!! Sandra prepared the most perfect breakfast & dinners! I admit, being downtown meant extra noise , however we managed the nighttime karaoke with a white noise app on my iPhone. Definitely do make note of the hills (both to get to the property and to get to the upper palapa level) and the couple of shared bathrooms. "We had an unfortunate incident of robbery while we were out on our first night. Regardless of the negative start, we are grateful for the prompt assistance of the hosts. Pre-arrival, the property manager helped booked 2 meals with an on-site chef & massages. Due to the robbery, we expressed no longer being able to afford the services. "We had a great experience at this resort. The staff is so very accommodating and eager to assist you. Everyone from the bell boys/golf cart guys to the housekeeping, front desk and service staff were excellent. During our 10 day stay, we had two issues that I won't mention here, only because the resort staff were extremely quick to respond and go above & beyond to make it right. The property is very cool and offers a unique jungle resort experience while still having the option to go to the beach club. The food at the Japanese teppanyaki was extremely buttery and salty but we found the food at the buffet and Media restaurant to be very good. We enjoyed all the pools and hot tubs. We only wished the hot tubs had been quite a lot warmer in the evenings. We will be back!"

"Very nice relaxing hotel. No boom box blaring, no late night pool parties, mostly older clientele so that suited us fine. I give the front desk and cleaning staff a 11 out of 10, they went above and beyond with any request or need we had. We will probably book there again for years to come!"

Cozy with a View

"The hotel is located atop a small mountain. The road to get there is very rocky and rustic and easily missed from the main road. But the view from the small balcony is well worth the bumpy trip. You see the ocean and the entire town of Rincon de Guayabitos. Hot water was great. Bed was very comfortable too. Room was small but you don't mind it. Alot of cool birds on the grounds."

"Our rooms were not ready when we arrived. Room 1 the shower was slow draining & we had no handle on our hot water nozzle. We were told to use our fingers to turn it on & off. One of the pillow cases looked like it had puss stains on it, so gross. Room 2 had had cigarette holes through the sheets & covering. Both bathrooms toilets looked like they had urine in them, but it was the color of the water. DO NOT recommend this location. "
