"Fantastic place to stay! Very clean and well maintained period property with an interesting history! Our room was also very clean, with a good shower in the en-suite bathroom. There are good tea/coffee making facilities in the room, even a mini-fridge for keeping everything fresh. Everything was replenished daily, even the lovely selection of biscuits! Breakfast was superb and all included in the price. There was good selection of fruit, yogurt and serials plus a fantastic full English breakfast...

"Great location, our room overlooked the beach, with a lovely view. Free parking outside. Room was clean and comfy. Hosts Marion and Graham were warm and welcoming. Great breakfasts. The free cakes on receptoon every day was a nice touch. Really enjoyed our 2 night stay and hope to be back again soon. "

"The hosts were great… however, the cleanliness was not good!. Upon inspecting our bed, it was clear that the bedding had not been changed, we found two pieces of grass and several pieces of body hair, including eyelashes… "

"Nice room, bathroom had both shower and bath but when we went to use bath there was no plug so could not use which was disappointing. Shower was not very powerful at all. Plenty of tea /coffee provided and bottles of water provided. Beds comfy, enjoyed good sleep. They don’t do food anymore, so have to go else where for dinner & breakfast. "

"As the rooms had been recently refurbished, mine was modern, clean and double glazed. Everything worked properly and there was no shortage of hot water. Breakfast was fine and the hosts were very attentive. It's a short walk to the seafront, not far from the centre of town and a little further to the harbour. There was a decent sized chest of drawers and a little fridge. The wardrobe was just a rail hanging over a shelf and it's likely that long coats would put the shelf out of use for any...

"We really enjoyed our stay at Charnwood Guest House. The spotless room had a comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities and hot shower. Breakfast was served fresh to order each morning. Location was a short walk along the river from the beach and restaurants. Finally a shout out to Ruth and Phil who were the most charming hosts you could hope to meet."
