"We were 2 familes totaling 11 with kids ranging from 10-18 years old. We cannot say enough great things about our expierence here. Jerri was a great host and super responsive but Mabel and George were the best. Mabel from her amazing meals to helping plan out our days made relaxing and exploring so easy. George was always around to take us by boat or just to talk with the kids who became very fond of him. House was well equipped with anything you need. If you are looking for something away from teh hustle and away from the tourists this is the place for you"

"Puerta Azul is a unique small and quiet hotel. The staff is amazing and very helpful. The food is delicious and it is prepared fresh every day. Our room was number 4 very close to the beach and was very clean and beautiful. The owners and all their staff specially Julie are very nice and courteous. My husband and I had an incredible stay in this charming hotel and we will hope to come back next year. "

"The only problem we experienced in this glorious place is that we didn't stay long enough. Sandra and Al (and assorted critters -- love them all!) are the perfect hosts; generous and helpful, friendly and available, yet respectful of privacy. The property itself is just amazing! We didn't want to leave those beautiful sunsets, the quiet of a private beach, the farm-like feel of the fruit and nut trees, etc. I'd give this a 10 of 10, easily, and recommend a long stay here for any travelers wanting a local experience full of the best Roatan has to offer. "We loved our time here! Sandy bay is the best. We very much dislike the crowds of west bay/end. Sandy bay is so calm and peaceful and you feel like you are integrating among the locals. The house was beautiful and perfect for us. We loved the pool, kayaks and sunsets on the beach! We drank coffee on the porch every morning and absolutely loved the greenery and privacy. The house was just perfect for us. We walked over to Sandy bay divers and had several great dives. I am already day dreaming about returning to this sweet little slice of paradise!"
