"Enjoyed our 2 nights here. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and had many choices! Property is serene and feels wonderful. The view from the pool and dining area of Lions Rock is fabulous. Many choices of restaurants in the area within 10 minutes walking. We ate a la carte dinner one night in the hotel restaurant and thought it was great - vegetable curries with rice, vegetable spring rolls and nasi goreng. We also walked to Lions Rock and on to Pidurangala Rock - it takes about a half hour to each, so plan for a minimum 1 hour walk each way. Overall, really liked it here. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to be close to the rock. "

"This is a beautiful and well-designed hotel in a unique location next to the lake and jungle. The staff were attentive and thoughtful. The only downside was the dining options - the menus are international and expensive, and the remote location of the hotel makes it difficult to eat elsewhere. We would have preferred more local Sri Lankan options. However, the buffet breakfast was varied and impressive."

"This hotel lived up to the great ratings it has received...and then some. Every employee we encountered was warm and friendly. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, the rooms lovely. Best was all the elephant themed art work throughout the property. It was like walking in a modern art museum!"

"From the outside the dining area looks clean but my room was dirty with spiderwebs. I had mentioned the water tank was empty but nothing was done to replace the jug. The room wasn’t cleaned when i mentioned to owner he said only upon request. I had requested 1hr late checkout due to my ride will arrive at 11am but he said no I had to checkout at 10am because a group was coming in , he then cut off power and wifi at 8a I couldn’t take a shower and the heat was unbearable trying to pack with no AC or overhead fan were miserable. When I inquired about no electricity he blamed the government I told him I had texted with other friends staying nearby places and they had electricity. That’s when he cut off wifi before my checkout time at 10am . I later inquired with other people around town they all had electricity! The owner lied ! Do not stay at this place. Website stated restrauant when I inquired about food as this place is in the middle of nowhere , his response was food not prepared. I wasn’t asking for free food but I had to eat and thought there’s a restaurant. I had to walk 2 kilometers to the nearest food place in hot & humid condition. He suggested I can bike but didn’t offered me a bike to ride into town . in fact I like a refund I was a solo female traveling for over 6wks not once was I out of electricity I was not a rowdy person,and being very quiet. I looked and found another place closer to town within 5mins walking distance. I do not recommend this place at all! "
