"Despite being very much an English pub facility the people were very friendly & helpful, the rooms were comfortable & well apportioned. The pubs position just a few meters away from the river walk into the city was a real bonus. It encouraged me to walk rather than rely on public transport, although this was frequent with a nearby bus stop, and I found lovely parts of the city that I may have missed otherwise. I would recommend this hotel to family & friends."

"What a beautiful hotel next to the river a nice walk to the centre of York. Staff so friendly and helpful clean and comfortable apartment. With everything you wanted in a apartment. We even asked to have a look at the 2 bedroom penthouse suite and was given a guided tourer, we will book the penthouse suite on our next visit with friends. And with free tea/coffee in the lobby. A great 2 nights stay could not ask for more. "
