"It is an old hotel, so for what it is, it’s not bad. Very good area. Very safe. Staff was great and friendly. If it was a little cheaper it would’ve been 5 stars. I just think the hotel needs an update. But the beaches are amazing. No complaints. People around the area are also very friendly. "

"The Thompson is a modern Mexican hotel located on Playa Ropa. You can walk to restaurants and are an easy 5 min cab or 100 MXP to the center. We enjoyed our stay and ate at both of the restaurants on the property which were excellent. The massage was wonderful and if you need help with a tour they are accommodating. A lovely get away! "

"We enjoyed our stay with many thanks to Leo, Mary and the young fellow who hoisted my bag up and down the stairs. Our suite was clean and spacious, with a gorgeous view of Playa La Ropa and the fireworks on New Year’s Eve! So close to the beach and so many any excellent restaurants. A short taxi ride into El Centro. We hope to visit again. The convenience store adjoining was great "
