"The management could not have been more helpful both in terms of arranging tours and assisting with a problem with our car. The wildlife that we saw each day at breakfast was stunning but breakfast itself was somewhat disappointing. We understand their bid to be very eco but only emptying bins in the rooms every 48 hours did not seem very hygienic. "

"Wonderful house and property in a rainforest setting. House has all the necessary amenities, comfortable bed. Marty was very responsive on WhatsApp and welcoming when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed all the little extras like the pool, hot tub, and nature walk. Would definitely return again!"

"We especially enjoyed waking to the sounds of so many tropical birds. The house is artfully decorated, the views are wonderful, the surrounding gardens are excellent. So great to be out in the country away from the crowds of La Fortuna but still close to everything. Highly recommended"

"The location was perfect for seeing Rio Celeste and other rainforest tours. Everyone was really friendly and the food was great. Communication was somewhat interesting because I hadn’t brushed up on my Spanish enough but we made it work! The bed wasn’t super comfortable, shower didn’t get very hot and the walls weren’t exactly soundproof but for the price it was still a good value. I’d definitely stay here again!"

"The Casita was just as advertised. Small but didn't feel small. We were nervous about the size before moving in but it felt the right size and we didn't feel crowded or closed in. It had everything that we needed and expected. The view was great and the location was fine. We had a car so getting to groceries etc. was not a problem. Barbara and Lawrence were great hosts. We really enjoyed Lawrence's band practices. All in all a great stay."

"If you value privacy and respect this is NOT the place for you. The Good: our family thoroughly enjoyed the Arenal area. Los Lagos was great for kids and adults. Hot springs,water slides and lunch, all for 100 bucks US. It’s a must visit. The area is gorgeous, if you have an extra couple of days it’s a great way to end your trip before flying home.The bad: This is ALL true. We arrive at 7 pm, told not to use AC unless all windows are closed, some windows are impossible to close because they...

"The property itself is wonderful for a family vacation. Ample room for everyone with the library/entertainment area, the dining room, deck, covered swimming pool and hot tub and every room with its own bathroom. Patrick couldn't have been more helpful. It was like having your own Concierge. Very helpful coming up with activities and and recommendations. The staff were friendly and took care of everything. The breakfasts delicious and large. It all worked flawlessly. "

"The villa has a great view of the lake and is extremely quiet. It’s secluded but still close to the main road and we felt like it was a safe area The directions provided by the owner are good but it is hard to find at night. The furniture, bedding and amenities are pretty old but we were not expecting 5 star. We loved Nuevo Arenal compared to the very touristy La Fortuna but there are of course more activities there. Overall very happy with the villa"
