"Gorgeous historic inn with beautiful warm sitting rooms on the first floor with games, a roaring fireplace, and relaxing music. Food can be ordered from the in-house pub to this room as well, or eaten in the pub or dining room, which are both beautifully decked out as well. Rooms have delightful victorian decoration and vintage character. This was a fantastic refresh after having stayed in soulless contemporary hotels for all of my last stays."

"Hidden gem, nestled in redwood country. It doesn’t look it fro the outside but this was a cool hotel to stay the night during my travels south from the PNW. "

"We had a nice stay at this Vrbo. Great place to get right on the Avenue of the Giants, which is a beautiful drive. The house had what we needed. There is a small grocery store nearby which can give you all the basics. Beds were comfortable and I appreciated there were plenty of towels in the bathroom. On the down side, the road (driveway?) next to the property looks like the local dump. Lots of abandoned cars and junk. The property is a great place for kids to explore nature. But it’s on a hilltop so you need to be able to manage hills if you want to join them! We didn’t have the greatest weather so we couldn’t use the fire pit like we would have liked to. "

"My husband and I live in Fortuna, about 35 miles north of this cottage. We wanted a getaway close by because we only have one day off together a week but we wanted a nice, romantic place to celebrate our four year wedding anniversary. The Cottage was affordable and very pretty in the pictures and I would have been so happy with the basics but the host went above and beyond filling the place with amenities and details to make the stay amazing. There was really good quality coffee, tea and everything you need, a fully stocked kitchen so no need to bring anything pots or pans or anything like that.there was even picnic dishes to take to the picnic area and a blender, veggie slicer and all that. There was even food in the cabinets and freezer. We brought our own but I just thought it was so nice of the host to include. Also wifi, Netflix, an electric fireplace in the tv stand, there are two balconies with pretty lights. My husband and I had a lovely dinner under the stars and redwoods at the patio table on the deck! I'm already planning on booking again when my parents come to visit, I know my mom will be obsessed with the decor like I am. This was my first time using VRBO and I was super impressed! I highly recommend this place!Also the host was helpful and gave stellar directions, GPS isn't very reliable as the cell service is spotty on the drive BUT I had full service at the property!"

"Spacious home with all the desirable vacation amenities. The house was large enough for a gathering of at least 10 people if not more. There are only two bathrooms despite having 5 bedrooms, so keep that in mind. The property seemed to be designed with a “man cave” focus, minus a pool table; large TVs in every room with a grand outdoor kitchen. We could not wait until sunrise to see the beautiful views on top of the mountain. I would caution that a good vehicle is needed to get up to the house due to the steep hill and somewhat treacherous drive up to the house, but the location is worth it. Such a cool.property. "
