"The property is amazing....i can see why its named the 8th wonder of the world. The home is biult right into huge rocks but you dont feel like you are in a cave. Robert has designed this home beautifully and uniquely. I would recommend you take advantage of his culinary skills and have him cook you a meal upon your arrival. It was soooo good....and a lot of food!!!! Pasta...braised ribs...roased artichoke...fresh cheese bread....house salad with home made dressing...shrimp...

"A lovely house between Orosi and Paraiso, overlooking the Orosi Valley. Not far outside Paraiso--Waze took us right there. The house is beautiful and comfortable and very well appointed and supplied. The owner is only onsite part of the time, but is promptly available via WhatsApp. Her onsite assistant doesn't speak English, but we did fine with a little bit of Spanish and WhatsApp with the owner who speaks excellent English. We want to return to Casa Bartzis on a future trip--it's a winner!"

"Está propiedad es una joya, increíble lugar para escaparse el finde semana. El lugar es mágico y con bastante opciones para disfruta dentro de la propiedad. Además la atención de Doug es excepcional siempre está pendiente que tu estadía fluya con perfección y que no te falte nada. Esta propiedad es súper recomendada. Les voy a dar un tip nosotros fuimos también a visitar Copey Vinícola Tour y la propiedad está a 30 minutos de este increíble paraíso en donde nos quedamos a dormir. "

"The house is in a neighborhood about halfway up one of the mountain roads from the town of Orosi. Overall, it's a fantastic house very comfortable for our party of 4. Great place to enjoy a glass of wine on the porch and visit in the late afternoons. The kitchen was adequately equipped with coffee maker, microwave, range, fridge. We mostly ate breakfast and brought take out dinners during our stay. The views of the Orosi Valley from the dining area and porch are amazing! Vernon was available and...

"We stayed for two nights and got up early each day to look at the birds. The location is beautiful, the views over the surrounding hills are amazing, and you can watch the parrots fly along the valley. The house has large picture windows and you can see the lights of Orosi in the valley in the evening. The house is bright and colorfully decorated and the kitchen has electric kettle, coffee maker, microwave, stove etc. and pots and pans if you want to cook (we ate out at Paraiso, about 15 minutes...

"Wow, what an incredible slice of heaven. Feels like you’re a million miles away from civilization. Waking up to the sounds of the birds in the morning, dinner with Gregory (host) and sitting on the porch in the evening were highlights of the stay. "Came to Turrialba for the Canyons- but fell in love with this place. The deck was incredible, great place for mornings- watching the Tucan, watching the clouds roll by all from a comfy chair. The hot tub was a rare novelty. I spent time in other cities in CR, but this place is incredible. Absolutely will be back!"

"The river and surrounding gardens are spectacular, including a pristine spring water source. My family loved going down to the river spontaneously for a plunge and relaxation on the warm smooth rocks. The home is a rare gem for the area because the kitchen and main patio gets early morning sunrise sunshine. "Messed up my reservation, didn't let me know. Lost a night for which I wasn't refunded although they offered to, and amenities were not at all as described in Expedia. There's no TV signal, TVs not pre-connected to wifi, no info on the password, gave me pass 3 options none worked. Pretty pics that don't live up to the actual experience. I'm never coming back."

"Service and premises are excelente this is such a beautiful quiet and magical place. Nevertheless there is an improvement possibility in the dinning the food takes a lot to be served and the taste and quality is not adequate to prices. Additionally on NYE they had fireworks which I consider is not consequent to the ecological experience. I was concerned about all the animal in their surroundings suffering for this "

"We loved the restaurant, the food, the staff. We loved the hiking opportunities, the flowers, the birds. We loved the hike to our room. We loved the setting - it’s quite a drive there- a beautiful drive to a beautiful destination. We loved our room- very quiet, lovely view we loved “Feathers”, the beautiful garden with the birds. We loved our quetzal tour and also “Batsu”, the other beautiful garden with lots of gorgeous birds. We loved everything. "

"This was my second visit one of the best hotels in the Savegre Valley for birders. The accommodations are excellent (including heating in the rooms & hot showers!), with the mountain-view villas being especially good for birders. A major bonus is a wonderful bird-feeding area attracting lots of hummingbirds & frugivores. The only drawback on this visit was the disappointing meals on our first evening - I hope just a reflection of temporary staffing problems. Fortunately excellent restaurants at Lauraceas and Savegre are close by. "
