"The owners go out of their way to make you comfortable. They organized our 4 days of sightseeing with a guide. We also rented our car from them which makes it a great place to stay. Would highly recommend and hope to return to their beautiful oasis and Island. "

"The place is very open, peaceful, clean and very friendly, helpful accommodating staff. Breakfast is sufficient. Kenatea, the manager is very nice. Our flight is not until late in the afternoon and she let us stayed in our room until we are ready to leave for our flight. "

"It's the best place to stay if you appreciate the silence and you're looking for a quiet place because is far from the town and very close to Puna Pau and that makes that at night you can see the stars so clearly. The staff is so kind and makes your stance there so enjoyful. The taste of the breakfast is fresh, natural and so delicious and also the proportion is enough. The room is so big for one person and perfect, in my perception, for two persons. A great experience for sure, if I come back...

"Wonderful experience - fantastic staff and service at this “oasis” - the restaurant was wonderful, the pool was refreshing after each day of touring, the staff helped arrange our extra tours and even arranged a rental car for us. Only downside - roosters wake you up early! About 5:15 each morning!"

"I really wish I could give this hotel a good review, but it’s more of a caution. First, the good: The hotel is within 10mins walk to the main restaurant areas, we always felt safe, and the room was clean when we arrived.The pool area and grounds were picturesque and seemed to be well taken care of. "Tatiana goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is great! There is no internet currently and only a communal television and kitchen. Although a no frills accommodation, Cabañas Makupuna makes up for it in quiet, peace, and tranquility. I most definitely would stay here again!!!!! "

"This hotel is definitely 5 star. Anybody who wants to visit Easter Island and get that off their bucket list should stay here. Edith, the owner/manager picked us up at the airport and checked us in and fed us free excellent breakfast every day. The rooms are nice, air conditioned with free wifi. the hotel is centrally located and you can walk to everything good in Hanga Roa. Our tour operator picked us up and took us to all the good stuff and dropped us off at the hotel...After our vacation was over Edith drove us back to the airport....our vacation could not have gone better and Tauraa hotel is inexpensive when compared to others in the area. Edith is also of native Rapa Nui ancestry and can answer any question you have about Easter Island. If you are planning on visiting Easter Island, you really do need to stay here and I don't review many places I have been to and when I do I'm usually posting bad things but there is nothing bad at all about Easter island, Tauraa Hotel or Edith...I highly recommend to everyone!!!"

"Our flight was over 5 hours late, however both the complementary transportation and the hotel front desk stayed open to greet us. PRO: The best is the hotel staff, who were very helpful and answered our every question. Location, could not be better for easy beach, restaurant and town access, all are extremely walkable. You can see and hear the ocean, and the sunsets from the upper balcony are great. CON's: Stairs in the apartment are steep to get to the bedroom and the bathroom is downstairs. Need screens on upstairs door and window. A toaster would be a nice addition. An extra fan would be nice just so that it wouldn't have to be carried upstairs to the bedroom. After all of this, we would still recommend this property"

"The staff at Tupa hotel is very helpful and speak excellent English. This is not an island where you find luxury hotels. The facilities are well-worn and basic. Given you accept that, you would do well to book Tupa hotel for the kindness and service. Bed was comfortable. Storage plentiful. Location convenient and they were wonderful about picking me up at the airport and taking me back. On time and efficient. I had an ocean-side room with a sliding door that opened on a mini-patio. One thing you should know is that the cleaning person always left the sliding door open to air out the room. This helps prevent mildew in this tropical climate. So don't leave valuables lying around. This wasn't an issue for me since I don't travel with any valuables other than my passport and money, which I keep with me at all times. One thing I wish I knew before I went was that they can book you tours at the hotel. I booked separately and had an awful experience on the tours. Check with them about tours when you reach out to book. A beautiful island that is still rustic."

"I can honestly say that our trip to Rapa Nui and our stay at Hare Nua was the most incredible experience we’ve ever had traveling. The team at Hare Nua and the Rapa Nui are some of the most genuine and generous people we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. The hotel itself is beautiful, the breakfast are delicious and plentiful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The staff will attend to your every need. I always thought Easter Island was a once in a lifetime trip. Now, I truly want to come back and stay much longer. "
