"Hotel is very poorly signposted. Most of the villas were unoccupied and gave the feeling of a ghost town. No wifi in the villas."

"It was very difficult to find from Setubal and if they’d given better directions from highway it would have saved us 3 hours of stress trying to locate it via several passer-by people most had no English, so language difficulties occurred. We did not have Satnav in hire car and phones no use as English ones that only good for photos or on WiFi. Apart from that it was a very nice hotel and staff spoke English and very friendly. The buffet-style meals weren’t the best we’ve ever had but I...

"It’s a real treat staying here. What a fun place to stay, a hotel that is part of a 15th C castle. The facilities are great. The tavern on the property had excellent food. The rooms are spacious and very nice. "

"The receptionist was very pleasant and efficient. I had a very early departure from the hotel (3:30 AM). She proactively offered to help me with transportion arrangements, a wake up call (from a real live human being -- they still have those in Portugal!) and a packaged breakfast to go. "
