"My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon, and it was perfect. The views from the lanai are EVEN BETTER than the pictures. Seriously, you can’t find views like that anywhere else on the Big Island. The VRBO was excellent, cozy with everything you could possibly need. Especially appreciated the little touches such as a fully stocked kitchen to cook to your heart’s content, a cooler we could use while exploring the island, coffee and tea, and fresh baked goods upon arrival. The VRBO is in an excellent location for exploring the Hilo side of the Big Island, and was the perfect place to come back to after a day of adventuring and relax out on the lanai. Walking around the farm grounds is a real treat in itself. Can’t recommend enough! "

"This place is terrific! Nice outdoor dining and seating areas, very clean, kitchenette is a nice touch. Rooms were very pretty and spacious. What lovely surprise! Waimea is a fun little town and gave us a different area to explore. Highly recommended."

"My wife and I started our honeymoon here (we spent the last couple nights on the Kona side). This was exactly what we hoped it would be: private and peaceful. The property was clean, with modern and quality cooking appliances and a nicely-done bathroom. The weather was mostly wet, but the temperature was perfect. If you’re not afraid of the rain, it’s wonderful to be outside. The lanai is perfect, especially for breakfast. Lots of birds singing during the day. At night you’ll be serenaded by geckos. (The night geckos are quite loud, especially around sunset; be prepared for lots of “waWEEP” noises.) We got to share some breakfast with the day geckos and with the resident duck. You’re off the beaten track and will not be bothered by passersby. Even though it’s on the host’s property, it felt exceptionally private. The only (tiny) downsides were that there was no dishwasher, and laundry was in the shed out back. We managed just fine. If you’re looking for lots of social activities nearby, this probably isn’t your place. But, if you’re looking for privacy and access to rainforest paradise, this is it. Highly recommend the Tropical Botanical Garden (easily worth the $30 if you’re into this sort of thing). Also, it’s a bit of a drive and a hike in through a muddy jungle (2.5 miles each way), but Shipman Beach was exceptional. Extremely private. Swimmable calm lagoon. Sea turtles. Thundering surf on the rocks around the beach. Absolutely wonderful. And it’s free. Enjoy! "

"This is a very nice spot, with a serene view to the ocean over a herd of grazing cattle. The cottage is also unique with most everything you need to make meals and relax. The bath is nice as well with a large shower. The day bed (single) is a firm foam mattress and quite comfortable.. Alas, the double bed is worn and most uncomfortable. I'm sure that the owners have scheduled a replacement of the bed and upgrading it to a queen. We would very definitely stay here again."
