"It was comfortable & room quiet after a long drive. service was reasonable considering the staff were stretched during an afternoon party. People were generally pleasant and did well. Pity no food on offer on a Sunday night but since it was a central location there was plenty on offer locally."

"It took ages to check despite the bar being open. My nice but quite small but the general housekeeping could be improved. The basin in the tiny bathroom offered little or no hot water and the shower head was only adequate. The menu choice was disappointing but the food was nice. The Breakfast basket was poor. My overall opinion of the Crown was that it was expensive for what you got. It's not a place that I would return to. "

"First impression: very good. Off-street parking was available very close to the entrance. Check-in was at the bar in a modern bar/restaurant which was quiet and inviting, and I was soon shown to my room. The evening meal was excellent, with a couple of pints of a local ale. Food service ended at 8.30pm but that suited me fine. The bar/restaurant remained a quiet place, to be expected on a mid-week evening in November. My room had a good-sized double bed, but no other furniture apart from small...
