The manager called the day we were meant to check in to ask us to check in late which we did because they were on holiday or there was a staff shortage or someone was sick - I couldn't keep up with what the problem was. "The host was very kind in accommodating our schedule when arriving to Amsterdam, and the directions for taking the train and tram from the airport to the apartment were spot on and very helpful. The apartment itself is lovely and cozy, just the right amount of space for two of us. It did sometimes get a little cold (I'm not used to the Nest thermostats but for others it's probably not an issue) and it was a little odd to have the toilet and shower in separate rooms. "We arrived in Amsterdam as the final leg of a 17 day European vacation. Check in and out was easy, Edwin was a wealth of info and the home is spotless. We happened to be there one day that the weather was horrible - cold, rain and VERY high winds,,,a perfect crash day for us to stay inside and rest. Comfy beds. Walking distance from the central train station and a grocery store nearby. "

"The property was roomy and immaculate. It was very comfortable with a large bed and living room. The kitchenette provided everything we needed for self catering if we wanted to eat in. Very easy to shop for food with a supermarket close by and easy access to public transport and all the sights of interest with canals on the doorstep. Our host was very helpful and greeted us upon arrival. Would definitely recommend this fabulous apartment. "

Friendly and useful staff, beautiful and peaceful surroundings, the cottage was spacious and clean, and supplied with sufficient equipment (including a recent dishwasher and quite comfortable beds). Only 20 minutes away from Amsterdam if you fancy a visit , but Volendam itself is definitely worth exploring. We highly recommend this place ."
