"If you like beautiful mountain views, you will love this cottage. It is up a steep gravel one lane road. My large, two wheel drive SUV did okay with that but putting it in low gear helped a little more. You must go very slowly and watch for ruts and holes in the road. Thankfully, I never met another vehicle coming in the opposite direction as there are deep ruts on each side of the road. But the Fall colors were on full display and we did not want to leave. "We visited just after the remnants of a tropical storm has passed through. Power was there in the cabin, but internet connection was not. The owner bent owner backwards to help restore (things were confusing during this period). The location of this cabin is convenient for those who want to have good access to a number of hiking and other activities in the north GA mountains. Plus pretty close to food stores, etc."

"Stayed with my husband and father-in-law while in town for a nearby wedding and all three of us instantly fell in love with the place. Perfect size for the three of us, cozy and charming with so many options for sitting and enjoying the outdoors or indoors, so clean and well maintained, so much to offer! It was in the perfect location, off the beaten path but the Bear Lake community offered several close to home amenities and very convenient hiking trails. "We loved our stay at this cabin! The hot tub was a real treat! I deducted one star due to the cleanliness of the property. When we arrived, there were dead bugs and twigs/leaves in the master bed. We live in the woods ourselves, so we know these things happen, but it was as if the bedding hadnt been changed before being made. There were no extra linens so i swept the bed off with a clean, dry towel. We also ran out of bath towels on day 2 so I washed a load but discovered that the dryer does not...
