"The location of the property is great. Not far from downtown Hilo and within walking distance to a beautiful park. Parking was not an issue. It is a very old hotel. It does need a facelift. "Overall I'd give 4.5 stars. Great location if you want to be close to the National Park. I received a free upgrade to the king room on the ground floor, but there was a persistent musty smell, similar to a gym locker. The dehumidifier in the room would not work, despite the instructions to juggle the tank until the light turns off. I suspect this is the cause of the smell.
