"My wife and I decided on a weekend getaway on short notice. We enjoy touring old mansions and so we were delighted when we came across the Alexander Mansion while doing a google search of nearby bed and breakfasts (We live in Minneapolis). The check-in with Richard was fun and easy. Richard provided several dinner recommendations and made our reservation once we decided where we wanted to go. Our accommodations were clean, comfortable, and well designed. The mansion was a step back in time....

"Our host was fantastic! Everything was clean and tidy upon arrival. Her daughter Grace made the most delicious breakfasts. A egg, spinich and cheese filled croissant with bacon for Saturday morning and french toast cubes with caramel and sausage for Sunday. OUTSTANDING! "

The area itself is very beautiful, the colors were beautiful, just a perfect little over night trip! The property was so unique, something for everyone with eight different themes and then the walking trails, what a treasure!!"

"We stayed one night. Apart from a small mishap with the VRBO listing not linking to the hosts’ schedule, which resulted in us having a different room, our stay was perfect. Gracious, responsive, and friendly hosts, adorable baby goats, peaceful country setting, great recommendations re: where to eat and places to hike, delicious breakfast, friendly fellow guests, and comfy bed. No cell reception but that was not a concern for us as we were looking to unplug."
