"The house is nicely designed and had lovely Christmas decor during our stay. We were celebrating a longtime friend’s 50th birthday. One spouse got sick and stayed home, so we ended up with 5 adults and 2 kids - the friend with kids took the downstairs and the two couples used the upstairs bedrooms. That allowed everyone their own space (the two kids sharing a room), though the parents were willing to take the room with a king bed and bunk beds if another couple had been able to join us. The downstairs was a little chilly in late December, but had a cool game table that we all tried out and a bowling/shuffleboard sort of game table. We were very happy with the kitchen supplies and were able to eat several meals at the house. The upper living room section is cozy, but small - so we had to utilize the kitchen island stools when watching TV or gathering after a meal. There was a larger room downstairs to watch TV more comfortably, but we left that area to the kids. Part of the reason we booked this house was the large table since we enjoy board games (we brought ours but they had a few on hand). It was great for that, though the dining chairs aren’t cushioned so we ended up having to use some throw pillows to sit for long periods. Everyone was impressed with the home and agreed they might enjoy a return visit sometime. We didn’t see much of the town this visit, other than dinner at Lamberts and the Christmas lights on the square which were very nice! "

"It was a beautiful place perfect for our family reunion. Accommodations worked for our large group with plenty of space and conveniently located. "

"Smelled cigarette smoke coming into our room a few different times and through the night. We woke up with sore throats because of it. Decently clean room. Absolutely terrible breakfast options. "

"We recently stayed here after Christmas and unfortunately, had to return home 9 hours away after only one night because of an emergency with our daughter. They were very understanding and refunded most of our money. The place was so amazing and there were lots of little extras like milk, eggs, bread, sandwich supplies in the refrigerator and fresh baked molasses cookies. Was very glad that we brought my husband’s four-wheel-drive truck because of the road into the property. We have rescheduled to go back in the spring. I can’t wait to go back!"

Family members from the Netherlands, Iowa, St Louis & Nixa shared a wonderful time & the kitchen was certainly an accommodating place to prepare our feast! We enjoyed the common areas as well as being able to have quiet spaces. Oh, having two laundry rooms was definitely a bonus too! We will consider booking again!"

"Very beautiful property. We got just what we needed peace and quiet. We loved the visit from 20+ wild turkey and 8 deer. I did some hiking on the trail it was very peaceful. Also enjoyed watching a bold eagle passing by. Would definitely visit again. Great communication with the host"
