"We had a wonderful one night stay. The staff excellent courteus and friendly . Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. The hotel is in a great location for me as I have difficulty walking and walked easily ro the Minster. I recommend this property"

"Visited for our 32nd wedding anniversary and was not disappointed. Booked a classic double room but when we arrived were informed that they upgraded us to an executive room which was really large and immaculately prepared. We had use of the spa facilities if needed for additional cost but free use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna for 1 hour per day which made for a relaxing time after a long walk around York. Breakfast was really nice with a large choice of continental and cooked items. Our morning waitress, Millie, was extremely helpful with all of our requests especially with regard to help with the afternoon tea menu. "

"Loved the unique features - a free snack pantry (sweets, drinks, fruit etc.), traditional record player in each room and records to pick and choose from, quirky but tasteful decorations. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable, clean, spacious bedrooms and bathrooms with easy to use push button bath/shower (no trying to work out which knob or lever to push or pull!), very comfortable underfloor heating in the bathroom. Lovely, comfortable lounge and bar and excellent restaurant."

"I loved staying here because the bed was comfortable, there was special soap and shampoo in the shower room and toilet, the staff were mostly friendly and courteous. Getting there was difficult by public transport I would say but there's a great Carvery next door. My double room was spacious with a fine telly (although the controls took some getting used to! - as I'm an older person but not old) I would definitely consider returning. There were no chests of drawers but I didn't mind - hangers though. I liked the door in the toilet! Well done to the staff in the hotel."
