"I honestly really liked this place! It’s older, and you can tell it has a little wear and tear, but you can tell they do a good job keeping everything clean. There were plenty of blankets and pillows in the room if you wanted to add more to the bed, and the rooms were very spacious. I slept really well here and the water pressure was great in the shower. The staff was also super helpful when we brought up what hikes we had planned. They gave us lots of good tips!"

"Especially for a hiking hotel I was extremely impressed with the cleanliness and space. Great bedding and fridge/microwave were nice. I arrived too early but was still welcomed and allowed to check in. Very nice! The town center was across the highway and new world grocery store opened at 7:30 AM. BK next door. "

"Great stay. It took a little while to get used to the fact that this property is unmanned but it actually worked very well. Check in was easy. The kitchen was well stocked. The shower pressure was great - although the shower is protected only by a curtain so not super private but wasn’t an issue. The bed was comfy. We stayed in a private room which even had a smart tv! Hostel luxury! Would definitely recommend. It is in the middle of nowhere but easy to access Whakapapa village and the other attractions in the area"
