"A great stay at an iconic hotel, small signs of maintenance required but did not detract from the ambiance. We had a superior room with balcony overlooking the sea and oh what a spectacular view and the weather was in blue sky and sunshine mode. The service from checking in, restaurant and check out was warm, friendly and efficient. Well cooked and tasty choices in the menu. Overall a great experience."

"Lovely hotel. Just don’t arrive before 3 pm. Room not ready at 2.10 pm (which we had been aware might happen). Cup of coffee while we wait? Unavailable before 3 pm. Drink? Bar not open til 3 pm. "

"An excellent property in all aspects, made even better by its convenient location. Guests can stroll down a private lawn to access starting points for bus and boat travel around Lake Windermere. It's not the most luxurious place I've stayed in the Lakes, but the location more than compensates. Highly recommended. I would happily stay here again."
