"Loved my stay (in the female only dormitory) - the bedroom, shower rooms and toilets were soo clean, very impressive. Did not use the kitchen much, but was not able to find green teas or coffee - maybe I just did not know where to look. Met friendly fellow travellers . Front desk host helped me with my luggage (rooms are upstairs) This place is great, quiet, and located near Hida No Sato - BUT rather far from downtown Takayama. "The room we stayed in had a weird smell to it no matter how long we left the window open. It was kind of like stale potato chips. The location was good, but the walls were super thin, so in the morning, we could hear everything everyone in the other room was saying. The room was also a but dusty and as we were laying out the mattresses, dust was flying from the wooden area where the bed was. You get what you pay for, but we paid only a bit more in some other cities and were able to get an actual...

"Great location, walkable to both the train station and the old town. Very friendly staff, very well equipped kitchen. Our room was clean and the shower facility was acceptable. If you're unlucky to get a room near the common areas, the doors are made of paper so you can hear everything. "

"Guest House Ouka is amazing!! The rooms and common area are very comfortable. The staff is so friendly and accomodating. They have tons of food and entertainment recommendations on the walls so I didn't have any worries about how to spend my time in Takayama. Lastly, they had unlimited free tea in the kitchen."

"Hostel is located near station and useful for tourists. Their bed were capsule type and I could stay confortably. Staffs are friendly and nice!"

"The friendly staff greeted me at the door, spoke enough english so check-in was easy and quick. They then showed me around and proceeded to assist with carrying luggage up the stairs to my room, above and beyond customer service - as with everywhere in Japan. A nice quiet accommodation with an instant friendly warmth when you walk through the door. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay here."

"The property is clean and modern. The rooms are spacious and a nice take on the western-Japanese rooms. The location is convenient being right next to the train station and bus terminal. The included breakfast is satisfactory without being great, but was enough to start the day. Staff were very kind and helpful throughout our stay."

"Located right next to public transportation, shopping, and restaurants. Attractions are within walking distance (30 mins). Room was very comfortable, clean, and spacious. Amenities were great and staff were wonderful. Hotel offers a variety of drinks in the lobby for guests - a very nice added touch. Really enjoyed the stay at this hotel!!"

Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kanazawa-eki Nishiguchi

"The hotel is fantastic. It’s a short walk from the train station, so it’s very well situated. The building is beautiful and well-maintained. They do good job of providing bathroom items, juice, and other travel conveniences for hotel guests. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The room I stayed in was spacious and had a really nice bathtub, which was great for relaxing. The breakfast had a good selection and the food was delicious(it’s provided by an Italian restaurant attached to the hotel). There’s a 7-11 next to the hotel as well, so you can easily pick up toiletries or any travel necessities you might have forgotten. Most of the nearby attractions in Kanazawa are about 10 minutes away by Uber, so it was very easy to get to all the important tourist spots. I really enjoyed my stay here and would certainly stay here again."

"Right opposite Dentetsu station which was perfect to get to after we did Alpen-route from Oginawa direction. Stayed 3 nights used hotel as a base for that plus to go to Kanazawa (20 mins by train), & Fukui (45 mins by train) to Dinosaur museum & also look around Toyama itself rather than drag our bags from hotel to hotel in those places plan worked perfectly. Hotel room good as was included breakfast. "

"Convenient location near the stations and restaurants/shops. The reason I chose this hotel was due to it having private onsens available. As someone with tattoos, I appreciated being able to partake! We tried two of the three private options and they were both fantastic. So relaxing after lots of walking and traveling. The hotel was nice, staff was very helpful and kind. I would stay here again!"
