Nice hotel outside city centre, changed management
They put us in a smoking room since hotels.com had not passed on my non-smoking preference, which smelled of smoke and was generally quite shabby. I asked to move to a non-smoking room and they made the excuse that non smoking rooms were full that night (the hotel was pretty empty). I asked again the next day and they wanted to charge me a significant amount for a room upgrade for the remaining nights. I called hotel.com, who negotiated the room change for free.
The upgrade room was much nicer, and I enjoyed their lovely pool. However, the pool only opens 10am to 9pm, which is rather restrictive if you want to swim and spend time in the city on the same day.
