My friends and I were welcomed warmly, quickly given recommendations in and around Kusatsu, and even provided a complimentary sweet milk, traditionally consumed after an onsen soak. "We stayed here for the ryokan experience and to visit the snow monkeys which we perfectly achieved. The dinner was a masterpiece with so many small dishes I couldn’t count. The staff were lovely and helped get us to the snow monkeys for opening time and arranged to collect us to drop us back to the station which was so appreciated."
