"4pm is too late for check-in. Most people are driving and go directly to the property. I arrived at 3:30 and had to try to contact them so we could get in to use the restrooms. All of the voicemails were full and initially we gave up and left to find restrooms. I guess I could have tried to get an early check-in. Not a deal breaker though. Nice place and great location. Pool was clean. "

"Cottage was perfect for our long weekend. Nalene was an excellent host and very responsive to any questions we had. Location of the property was great. Steps to the beach but also near many stores/shops/restaurants. Cottage was nice and clean. Loved it. "

"Very clean and very well organized. There were a few little things like the blinds in the dining room appeared to be broken but am assuming could have been fixed...I was just afraid to fool with them. "

"The home was as advertised. Found it odd that the guests had to make the beds when we arrived and strip the beds before we left in a rental for over $200 per night."

"The cottage was very nice and well equipped! Easy to find in a nice quiet neighborhood. The house has been updated since the photos were taken and it is very nice! The back deck view is covered by a lot of trees so you cannot see the golf course any more. Perfect for a quick trip to OBX!"

"The Flat Top cottage was the perfect place for our week long vacation to the OBX. The living room furniture was comfortable and the king bed was amazing. I rarely sleep well the first couple of nights away from home, but I slept great from the first night to the last. The location of the cottage was great for our trips to Manteo, Hatteras, and Kill Devil Hills. The beach was a short walk with two public access points equal distance from the cottage. "We were in town for a wedding, so found a little spot nearby the venue. This was a perfect for our little group! Decor was tasteful- like a cute pink nautical cottage (sometimes beach rentals can be SO cheesy - this one is done well). Quick access to the beach, plenty of space on the screened porch to enjoy breakfast with the family or have a quiet cup of coffee while you listen to the waves. We plan to keep this spot on our radar and bring our daughters with us next time. "

"This rustic but cute cottage pretty much sits in the middle of the Outer Banks and was perfect for us to travel throughout the four days we were there from one end to the other. We just needed to walk down the road about six houses to access the beach. Be sure to take your own bedding and linens. (Or pay $40 to have them supplied). There is no ocean view but you certainly could hear it. Our dog enjoyed the front porch. Parking was just in front of the house. Don’t rent if you can’t do steps. "

"We would definitely stay here again! Great location, very clean, & well-stocked. The owners were very easy to get in touch with, not that we had any issues at all! So many nice touches, including a great welcome basket. Looking forward to coming back here next year!"

"Property was just as described. Great location. Property owner is quick to respond. Close to beach access and fishing access. It is warmer on the 2nd floor so I would recommend a portable a/c for the warmer months. Would definitely rent again."
