"We passed by Agen and decided to stay overnight. The property had been renovated by the current owner and host, Vincent, with tasteful decorations. He offered us excellent wine at evening hours. Without his help we would have missed our train back to Paris. A huge thank you to the host Vincent, a real hospitable host. "

"We stayed for one night to break our trip back to the UK. Les Terrasses is a small guesthouse in a very quiet location. When we arrived we weren't sure what to expect as the property is still a work in progress. However, looks were definitely deceiving in this case. "Lovely building and we had a really excellent dinner - the catering team was changing so they weren't on their new menu yet so what we had was effectively a one-off. Lots of attention from the chap who was taking over the running of the kitchen. We had an automatic email from the property saying we had pre-payed but when we checked out we were told we hadn't. That caused some confusion especially as the man at checkout kept referring to our Expedia booking - I know Hotels.com is part to Expedia...

Old house, charm and calm assured. For eight people

Lovely Gite

"We rented the house as a base during a meditation retreat in nearby Temple sur Lot. It is a wonderful home, very comfy, lots of places to relax and read a book. Kitchen was well-stocked. The host was communicative, easy-going and accommodating. Because we traveled in the winter, we didn’t get to take advantage of the pool but I imagine that’s a fantastic seasonal perk. The only less than stellar note is that the WiFi is subpar. The thick stone walls preclude good connection in certain rooms, for example there was zero WiFi (or cell signal) in the bedroom with the shower where I slept or in the kitchen. This was a drag as I explicitly asked before booking about the strength of the WiFi signal because I had to work during the evening and be on Zoom calls. The host assured me that while there was no fiber optic there was decent coverage and that absolutely was not my experience. When there was coverage it was slow. An upgrade in the WiFi would truly make this listing perfect. I would suggest if going in the winter that you bring hot water bottles. Ours came in handy because although there is heat, the mattress was very cold. That being said, we enjoyed the stay so much and would recommend it easily. "

Perfect place to think and unwind

"This was the most perfect place to think and unwind over a week, while being able to head out and see nearby sites. The pool, pizza oven, and barbeque allowed us to relax and chat; the grounds allowed us enough space not to be crowded. Perfect!"

Self-check in, no humans

"I stayed here because there was a pool. When I arrived about 8 or 9pm there was a self-check-in at the gate. I was not sent a code, but a friend who spoke French called and got it for me. It was not sent through Hotels.com or by email. Without calling I would have not been able to stay here at all and would have been far from Agen with no room. It is VERY FAR from Agen, not in Agen as listed on the hotels.com site. The pool was covered for the night and opened at 8am the next morning. Check-out was at 10. There is no ice machine, no refrigerator, no hotel staff. I got up at 8 to use the pool for an hour. When I checked out the hotel front desk person called a cab for me. It was about 30 euro to get back to Agen. This is the only person I spoke to during my entire stay and she was lovely and helpful and understanding of my baby French as I counted on my fingers to tell her my room number. If you aren't prepared for this odd system, you will not be able to check-in if you arrive late. There is an elevator. There is no communication with guests. Pool is very small and was being cleaned during the one hour I was able to use it during my stay. I swam anyway, but the vacuum was underfoot and would not have been safe for children to swim."
