"There was a Christmas tree and decorations which made the house feel quite festive. The house was very comfortable and warm with plenty of space for the family of 5 adults and a dog. The facilities were a bit mixed - The living room tv was not working but this was sorted quite quickly. The kitchen is great to cook in but could do with another fridge or wine cooler as only a standard under worktop one provided. Not quite enough for lots of food and drinks. "Little gem of a place. Inside all new. Well stocked kitchen with all pans /utensils you might need. Log burner will heat the whole house so very little central heating required. Hot tub also log fired and we were surprised how quickly it heated the water. Sitting in it at night was a joy. Really good experience"

There was every thing you need in the form of utensils. With comfy beds. Well positioned for everything we wanted to do. Dumfries House is a joy to visit, the Isle of Arran, beautiful, don’t bother taking a car over just use the buses to get right around the island. So many superlatives to use about our week and not one...

"This was such a unique property to stay in for our vacation. It was a perfect location to serve as a home base from which we were able to make our daily sight seeing trips. The castle provided such a memorable experience that we will remember it for a very long time. Didn't mind the low doorways or many steep narrow steps. All part of the experience. Would certainly stay here again the next time we are in the country for a visit."
