"We loved our 2-night stay at the Grand Hotel Villa Politi in Syracuse! The property is very historic, having been established in 1862, and it is literally built adjacent to one of the archeological sites that Syracuse is known for. "We enjoyed a lovely suite, constructed in an old palace. It was spacious, quiet and clean! Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice! It was one block from the sea and everything was close by. We would highly recommend this hotel!"

"We enjoyed our stay. Not sure it is a 5 star hotel but definitely 4! The room had high ceilings and a tall window looking on to a courtyard. The bed was comfortable. Everything to Ortigia was within walking distance. The roof top patio was a lovely addition and we enjoyed reading and soaking up some sun .. in November which was lovely. The staff were friendly at reception and the breakfast was decent.. particularly enjoyed the coffee. The one thing that we found rather cheap for a 5 star hotel...

"Emanuella was extremely helpful. Before we arrrived she sent me multiple what’s app notices on parking information and for our arrival. She was very nice and very helpful even with the dinner suggestions. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Close to all the sites. Would recommend it to everyone who is coming to Siracusa. "

"This was a last minute booking for one night at half 3 in the afternoon. What a fantastic find! There wasn't much around at the end of October and based on reviews and us having a car, we went for this. "The staff was very friendly and helpful in providing sites to see and places to eat. Since there’s limited driving in the area they try as much as possible to arrange parking and transportation. The room and hotel is very unique with art and architecture. They provided a great bottle of red wine for being a VIP on Expedia. They also provided free cocktails for us once during our stay and free drinks from the room refrigerator. Breakfast was delicious. The only con was that the shower was small...

Wonderful room, remote location.

"Beautiful hotel rooms. The staff was wonderful. Hard to find in the back roads. Only complaint would be the towel situation. They wanted to charge us 5eur to exchange from a pool towel to a dry one . You only get 1 same towel per person for 2 days . Very strange . "

Villa belfronte with private pool in the green can accommodate large groups

Great Stay

"Lovely property, the pool was amazing. Paolo was so lovely, very happy, sweet man, he made everything so easy for us, Greeted us with pizza and ice cream and even played a bit of football with our three year old. The Villa is about 25 minutes drive to the town of Siracuse, and theres a little village 5 minutes drive away for groceries and a few restaurants so it was perfect for us, we wanted a peacful family holiday. Would recommend! Thankyou Paolo!!"

"We had the best time, the villa was spacious giving us plenty of room, the pool was large and warm. There was always somewhere for us to gather but also a place for us to chill. We would definitely recommend "

Beautiful view from the pool

"Overall a lovely property. The pool is fantastic and great to come back to in the hot afternoons. There is a lovely outside area too where we spent most of our time. We moved the table to catch the evening breeze down the side of the house. Communication was easy and the owner came to meet us to drive to the property which was a bit out of the way. The only problem we had was the electrics tripping. I think there may have been a problem with the air conditioning unit in the main bedroom. The owner did call an electrian out and that helped. And the air conditioning unit seemed to work better after that too."

Orange house with large park and swimming pool.

Spacious apartment

"The apartment is spacious and has a lovely shared pool area, which is used by other guests and the owner’s family. The owner was very responsive to messages and kindly allowed us to check in early, which we really appreciated. Any issues we had during our stay were promptly dealt with. Although there is air conditioning in the apartment it is only in the lounge/kitchen area and not the bedrooms, however we asked for a fan which was provided for us and was helpful. The apartment was not as well equipped as others we stayed at during our holiday and was lacking in some essential provisions e.g. there’s a dishwasher but no tablets were provided and only one toilet roll was provided for a 6 night stay. Location wise it is around 15 minutes to Syracusa, which is a beautiful city. There are a number of supermarkets within around 5 minutes by car from the apartment and it took c. 45 minutes by car from Catania airport. "

"Host was very friendly and accommodating. Villa was very basic. No mid stay clean on a two week booking. Beautiful views and a lovely pool. Quite noisy due to farming equipment and joy riding mopeds etc."

Great stay

"We had a wonderful holiday at Paolo's villa. It is a real gem of a house with a wonderful pool, and great views right over the countryside towards Syracuse and the coast. The pool was exceptional and the shallow end was perfect for children. They loved it. Check in was smooth and Paolo was very helpful and quick with communication. The aircon in the house was ideal given the heat, and the kitchen/living space was huge, even with a pizza oven and we also enjoyed the BBQ outside. We also were grateful for the local reviews of good places in Floridia Paolo recommended for eating out. All great quality, friendly and good value. Thank you for a great stay!"

"A truly delightful stay. Borgo del Carato is beautifully restored, and located in beautiful surroundings. The first thing that struck us is how the air is rich with the scent of orange and wisteria blossom and the garden in the morning full of birdsong. The team were all friendly and welcoming, going out of their way to make our stay smooth and comfortable. And the food is delicious, with an excellent breakfast (the cakes deserve special mention) and a superb five course evening meal made of fresh local ingredients. Overall we couldn’t be happier with our stay. My only regret is that we only booked for two nights - I would love to come back for longer."
